Our commitment to the Mountain Children Home in Nepal

We are actively committed to the well-being of children at the Mountain Children Home (MCH) in Kathmandu, Nepal. This facility offers orphans and disadvantaged children a safe place where they receive education, care, and security. Through our partnership, we contribute to long-term improvements in their living conditions and create new prospects for the future.

The facility is located in Shivapuri National Park—an idyllic yet remote region. This natural environment brings not only tranquility but also challenges, particularly with regard to infrastructure.

Why our help is needed

Nepal is a country that regularly faces economic hardship and natural disasters such as earthquakes. These circumstances lead to many children growing up without parents. It is estimated that there are around one million orphans in the country—about nine percent of the total population. Many of them have no access to medical care or education.

The MCH does important work here: It not only provides children with a home, but also provides educational support, health care, and emotional support. After the severe earthquake in 2015, which destroyed, among other things, the MCH building, the facility was rebuilt – but structural and legal deficiencies remain that need to be addressed.

Where help is specifically needed

Our continuous commitment aims at a sustainable
Improvement. On-site visits allow us to see progress and
to provide targeted support. Currently, there is a need in the following areas:

Nature's Nest Initiative

The project "Nature's Nest – For a Sustainable Future for Endangered Children in Nepal" pursues a holistic approach: In addition to structural safety, it focuses on education, environmental protection, health, and energy self-sufficiency. The goal is a long-term improvement in living conditions.

Sustainability as a guiding principle

Our work – together with other sponsors – is guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our focus is particularly on education, health, sustainable cities, and gender equality. Our goal is not short-term aid, but sustainable change.
